There is no theme this week for Muffin Tin Monday, but for the first time on a no-theme week I've come up with my own theme! Yay! I'm hosting my very first giveaway (Dr. Seuss books) so I decided to pick a theme that goes with one of the books that I am giving away. So our theme this week is Circus. (One of the books I am giving away is If I Ran the Circus.) Here's what I came up with:
peanuts (nutter butters), clown face (pb&j w/blueberry eyes, cherry nose and twizzlers pull & peel hair), circus animals (frosted animal crackers)
clown car (pb&j sandwich), the fruit doesn't go along with the theme...oops! (peaches and pears), circus animals (frosted animal crackers)

I learned 2 things this week. 1- I don't own any animal cookie cutters besides a dog, a bunny and something else that I am forgetting. No circus animals, though. And 2- Dawson does not like to see a face on his sandwich! Check out this picture...you might have to look closely but notice the clown's face - it's gone. But not because Dawson wanted to eat the blueberries and cherry first. The blueberries are now with the nutter butters and the cherry is next to the sandwich.
He cracks me up. I guess I wouldn't really like it if my sandwich was staring back at me...how do you eat something like that?! *lol*
*sigh* I just love that little face.

i've never really tried "food art" with my kids. the few times i have, my dd won't eat it b/c "it's too cute." sigh. your's are always fun to look at! :)
great theme!
What a great theme! He looks pretty happy with his lunch.
Great idea for a theme! I don't have any animal cookie cutters either. In a month and a half Aaron is going to be going to the states for school (first time I'll be away from him for more than like 20 hours!) so I might have to get him to pick up a few for me. :)
Aw, such cute pics, he really did enjoy his muffin tin. Great job!
I love it! More importantly, it looks like your little guy loves it too!
What a cutie!! We did a circus theme sometime during the summer and my daughter, Maddie, STILL talks about it. Ha!
Really cute! I could see my twins taking the face off first too! lol
that clown is AWESOME! and the peanuts are a great touch!
Fun! I love the circus theme and we LOVE If I Ran the Circus.
I love the nutter butters in there too. :)
super cute theme and I love that you made it go with your giveaway.
great theme! Looks like a fun lunch!!! :) Your little guy is so adorable!
Turned out great! Love the face too... I got a HUGE set of Animal shaped cookie cutters from Michaels if you have one by you. I used the 50% off coupon (just sign up through email and they send them to you). I want to say I only paid $4-5 for a 50pc set. They have alphabet/numbers too.
So creative. Loved how you tied in the books.
Have a great one.
Super cute theme! And a great tie into the book you've been reading. Also, I have an award for you:)
