Muffin Tin Monday - Dr. Seuss

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

Last week just flew by for me, I can't believe it's Monday already! And February?! Wow! I have a TON to do to get ready for our move back to San Diego at the end of the month so I am sure this month will probably fly by for me just as last week did. Hopefully I am able to at least keep up with my Muffin Tin Monday and Book Fan Friday posts because those are my favorite to do.

Anyway, this week's theme is Dr. Seuss! (Did anybody know that Dr. Seuss's birthday is on March 2nd?! If I am settled in our new house by then I am totally making a cake...or cupcakes to celebrate and of course we'll be reading Dr. Seuss books that day, too.)

Ok, I need to focus. I keep getting sidetracked, I apologize. *lol* Last Monday I was talking to my dad and I was telling him about the upcoming Dr. Seuss theme for MTM and he suggested that I take the titles from a few Dr. Seuss and use those as inspiration. Genius! (It runs in the family.)

Here is what we (my dad and I) came up with:

First up is a ham and cheese sandwich shaped like a foot and a piece of cheese shaped like a foot for The Foot Book which is Dawson's FAVORITE book. We've read it everyday for 4 weeks now! He can't get enough of it. (I have super cute video of him reading The Foot Book to me here.)

Next is green eggs and ham for Green Eggs and Ham.

And lastly we have goldfish crackers for 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (I know the last fish are green...I couldn't find any blue fish so let's pretend!)

Dawson ate pretty good. I think the only thing that he didn't touch was the eggs which is not a surprise, he's never been a fan of eggs...especially green ones!

To see what others came up with this week head on over to Muffin Tin Mom.

  14. I like the Dr. Seuss books because they are fun to read with all that rhyming going on. My first Dr. Seuss book was "The Cat In The Hat." He even wrote one for adults called You're Only Young Once which I read in just five minutes. You also might enjoy his biography: Dr. Seuss (Rookie biographies) by Dana Meachen Rau.

    Visiting from SITS.
