Postcard Exchange

I've read about a postcard exchange in a few blogs now and I have decided it would be a good idea to collect these for Dawson so when he gets older we can use them as a learning tool. Children Grow, Children Explore, Children Learn came up with this idea and is hosting this exchange. The idea of this exchange is to send out a postcard from your state or country and then collect postcards from other states or countries so you can use them in a geography lesson with your child. Also, this is a pay it forward exchange, so if you want to do it you have to post about it in your blog and send out at least 3 postcards.

I'm willing to send out as many postcards as I have to, to be able to collect as many as I can for Dawson. I also think it would be a neat idea to write some fun facts about your state on the back of the postcard. For example, you could include details like the capital of your state, what year it became a state, etc.

I know there is a lot going on right now with Christmas around the corner, so I will probably post about this a few times over the next month or so just so I can try and get as many participants as possible.

If you do want to participate just leave a comment here and we can exchange addresses through email. (Leave your email address if you don't have yours listed on your blogger profile.) You should also post about this in your blog and send anybody that wants to do it to the other blogs that are participating.

Here are a list of other participating blogs so far:

I will be updating the list of the blogs that are participating as they make a post about the exchange. I figure this will make it easier for people to find others to exchange with.

  1. Great idea. I'd love to send you one from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba! I'll totally put some facts about the base on there as well. :) Oh, and I'll definitely post about this soon. Maybe after this week is over. You know it's been a bit stressful around here lately!
